No Bail For UMD Student Charged With Murder Of Bowie State Student

UMD student Sean Urbanski is charged with the murder in what police say was an unprovoked attack.Richard Collins the Third was stabbed to death over the weekend at the University of Maryland, College Park.  Police also say they don’t believe Urbanski and Collins knew each other.

Freddie Gray Officers Face Internal Charges

Five of the six Baltimore police officers involved in the Freddie Gray case are now facing internal departmental charges. The “Baltimore Sun” reports three of the officers could be fired, including Officer Caesar Goodson, Lieutenant Brian Rice and Sergeant Alicia White. Officers Edward Nero and Garrett Miller were involved in the initial arrest of Gray and could be suspended for up to five days without pay. Officer William Porter will not face any punishment by the department.  A judge acquitted three of the officers of criminal charges in the case, while charges were dropped against the other three. Gray died two years ago of a severe spinal cord injury suffered while being transported in a police van following his arrest. His death sparked days of unrest and rioting in Baltimore.

No Charges Against MTPD Officer In Shooting

No charges will be filed against a Metro Transit officer accused of fatally shooting a man. In court documents released this morning, prosecutors say the unidentified officer shot Sidney Washington Jr. in self-defense. The 21-year-old was killed on July 4th of last year outside the Deanwood Metro station after allegedly shooting a weapon at an unmarked police vehicle.

Cosby Jury Selection Starts In Allegheny County

The selection of a jury is underway in Bill Cosby’s sexual assault case in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. After 12 jurors and six alternates are picked, they’ll be moved to a Philadelphia suburb in Montgomery County where they’ll be sequestered for the entire trial. Cosby is accused of drugging and molesting former Temple employee Andrea Constand in his Montgomery County home in 2004. Cosby is expected to be in the courtroom for the process of assembling the jury.
