Rushern Baker Announces Run For MD Governor

Prince George’s County Executive Rushern Baker is running for governor of Maryland. The Democrat announced his plans this morning in a new campaign video. Baker joins a growing field of Democratic challengers to incumbent Republican Governor Larry Hogan, including former NAACP President Ben Jealous. Baker says Maryland deserves a governor who will fight for affordable healthcare, great public schools and economic growth.

FBI Investigating Possible Terror Attack At Flint, Michigan Airport

The FBI says it’s too early to tell whether terrorism is the motive behind a stabbing at a Michigan airport. A police officer was stabbed in the neck at Bishop Airport in Flint this morning and there were reports the suspect shouted “Allah Akbar” just before the stabbing. Officer Jeff Neville is in stable condition after having surgery.

FBI: Congressional Shooter Had Anger Management Issues

Federal investigators are releasing new information on the man who shot up a congressional baseball practice last week, severely injuring House Majority Whip Steve Scalise. The FBI said in a press conference this morning that a thorough background check of James Hodgkinson revealed no mental health issues, but did reveal he had “anger management issues.” Hodgkinson also kept a storage locker in Alexandria, Virginia that he visited on a near-daily basis. In it, investigators say they found over two-hundred rounds of ammunition that were used in a modified assault rifle and handgun during last Wednesday’s shooting.

DC To Introduce Gender-Neutral Drivers’ Licenses

A big change is coming to Washington, DC drivers’ licenses. Starting as soon as Monday, drivers will be able to get gender-neutral licenses. Instead of an ‘M ‘or ‘F,’ drivers can get an ‘X’ under ‘Sex.’ The National Center for Transgender Equality says this will help people who want more privacy about their gender.
