Transcript Of Comey Testimony Released

Fired FBI Director James Comey is insisting that President Trump urged him to let go of the investigation of former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn. Flynn has emerged as a key figure in the Russia investigation. Comey testifies before the Senate Intelligence Committee tomorrow and his opening statement has been released. Comey claims that Trump said, quote — “I hope you can see your way clear to letting this go, to letting Flynn go.”

Top Intel Chiefs: No Pressure To Intervene In Ongoing Investigations

Appearing before the Senate Intelligence Committee today, two top U.S. intelligence officials say they have never felt pressured to intervene in an ongoing investigation of Russian interference. Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats and NSA chief Mike Rogers declined to answer specific questions about reports that President Trump asked them to intervene in the FBI’s Russia investigation. They said they would not discuss private conversations with the President in an open hearing. Trump reportedly asked Coats to pressure now-former FBI Director James Comey to back off the investigation of former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.

Maryland Woman Sentenced For Suffocating Children

A Maryland woman who killed her two young children by suffocation is heading to prison. Sonya Spoon was sentenced today to 45 years in prison. Prosecutors say when Spoon was arrested in 2014, she admitted to police that she had suffocated her children,three-year-old Kayla and one-year-old Ayden inside their Cheverly home. Spoon has spent the last two years at the Clifton Perkins Hospital Center in Jessup.

ANC Commissioner Arrested For Domestic Assault

A DC ANC commissioner who claimed he was randomly assaulted by police is under arrest for domestic assault. Authorities say they were called to the nine-thousand block of McHugh Drive in Glenarden yesterday afternoon on reports that Kendall Simmons punched and bit his girlfriend. Officers later found Simmons hiding in the bathroom of a nearby restaurant, and arrested him after he allegedly put up a struggle. Simmons says he was violently detained and then quickly released by DC Police in a separate incident last Friday.
