Trump Believes Russia Was Main Culprit Behind 2016 Election Meddling

President Donald Trump said that he believes Russia was the main culprit behind 2016 election meddling. In a press conference while on a visit to Poland Wednesday, Trump added that he thinks “it could have been other people in other countries” and that “no one really knows for sure.”

During a news conference with Polish President Andrzej Duda, President Trump heavily criticized news media outlets. “I think a lot of people interfere” in regards to last year’s election process. Trump used a significant part of his speech to attack various U.S. news outlets for their inconsistent coverage of his reign as president.

This serves as President Trump’s first official conference with reporters in foreign territory.

Russian meddling in the 2016 election has been a huge topic of discussion and the topic of various investigations in Washington, which has created a shroud over the entire White House. Extensive Russian investigations, as well as the possibility of connections between Trump and Russian officials, have caused immense tension on Capitol Hill.

President Trump also disparaged former President Barack Obama’s management of Russian interference claiming that the former president “did nothing” to contest the interference.
