Trump Complains About Treatment

President Trump claims no politician has ever been treated worse or more unfairly than he has. Giving the commencement address at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy today, Trump said life is not fair. He insisted that adversity makes people stronger. Trump advised newly-commissioned officers that critics and naysayers should not get in the way of fulfilling dreams. He added, quote — “Nothing worth doing ever came easy and the more righteous your fight the more opposition you’ll face.” The President also vowed to remain focused on the “forgotten men and women” of the U.S.

Woman Shot By Police Officers

What started as a car crash is now being investigated as a deadly shooting at the hands of police. It all started around 6:30 last night in Southwest DC on Joliet Street near the Bald Eagle Recreation Center. Family Honors Murdered Journalist With Bookstore

The family of a murdered DC journalist is honoring her legacy through the written word. This morning, they announced the creation of the Charnice Milton Community Bookstore in Southeast Washington. Organizers hope to raise donations to renovate a space on Martin Luther King, Junior Avenue. It would be the first DC bookstore east of the Anacostia River. Milton was killed two years ago when she was caught in the crossfire of a gang shooting while waiting for the bus. Her killer has never been found.

Heat Records Could Fall This Week

The DC area could see a record-breaking heatwave for the rest of the week. Forecasts predict temperatures in the low-to-mid-90s today, tomorrow, and Friday. Today’s high of 93 would break the previous record of 92 at Reagan National Airport. Tomorrow’s warm weather could also surpass Dulles Airport’s high of 91. A cold front is expected to push thunderstorms and sweltering humidity to the area on Friday, but it should also break the heatwave just in time for the weekend.
