VA Man Pleads Guilty To Threatening Howard U Students

An Alexandria, Virginia man is facing up to five years in prison for threatening to kill African-American students at Howard University. Twenty-six-year-old John Rust posted threats in an online forum in November of 2015 including one that said, “after all, it’s not murder if they’re black.” He pleaded guilty to making the threats in court yesterday. He will be sentenced on July 20th.

Stormy Daniels Sues President Trump

President Trump is being sued by adult film star Stormy Daniels over an alleged agreement she signed to keep quiet about an affair with him. Daniels’ lawyer Michael Avenatti appeared on NBC’s “Today” show this morning to explain the suit. The lawsuit claims she was paid 130-thousand-dollars in 2016 to keep quiet about the relationship that ran from 2006 to 2007. The suit also accuses Trump’s lawyer, Michael Cohen, of trying to intimidate her.

Dolphins Owner Changes Thoughts On Anthem Kneeling

The owner of the Miami Dolphins says he has no intentions of making players stand for the national anthem. Stephen Ross was quoted in the “New York Daily News” saying, “All of our players will be standing.” Ross has since claimed that his comments were “misconstrued.” He told “The South Florida Sun-Sentinel” that, while he feels that kneeling during the anthem is “an ineffective tactic,” he is passionate about the cause of social justice and has no intention of forcing players to stand.

Archaeologists Uncover Slave Cemetery In Maryland

A headstone found in Crownsville, Maryland is now believed to be part of a historic, but long-forgotten slave cemetery. State Highway Administration archaeologists announced Tuesday that teams had discovered the burial ground earlier this winter. The excavation was part of a transportation project on a former tobacco plantation owned by relatives of National Anthem composer Francis Scott Key. Cadaver dogs later detected
