Why was an elderly woman shot and killed while sitting inside her home? That is what police in Prince George’s County are trying to determine at this hour.  Police say 56-year-old Filomena Vasquez was found shot in her home in the 74-hundred block of Varnum Street in Landover Hills around 11:30 last night.  Police say the shots that killed Vasquez came from outside the home.  Her windows were riddled with bullets.  Police don’t believe Vasquez was the intended target, but say they don’t believe the shooting was random.   About six hours later, county police found a woman dead in a car in the 87-hundred block of Ritchie Drive in Capitol Heights. Police say the woman had trauma to her upper body.

Police are searching for suspects in both cases.
