THE JOURNEY: “Black Girls Do Code: Allison Bryant, Ph.D.”

She is one of only 50 African American female Information Systems Business School Professors in the entire country.  A product of the public school system, after reading BASIC (Beginner’s All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code) magazine in elementary school, Dr. Bryant didn’t know what she was doing when she learned to code, but she knew it excited her.  BASIC is a family of general-purpose, high level programming languages whose design philosophy emphasizes ease of use.  On this episode of “The Journey,” Dr. Wayne Frederick chats with Allison Bryant, Ph.D., Associate Professor and the Chair of the Information Systems and Supply Chain Management department at the Howard University School of Business.
