Celebrating 80 Years Serving The Community of Washington DC

Eight decades later and still going strong.  The Greater Washington Urban League is marking a milestone this week… 80 years of helping to guide area residents on to the road to self-sufficiency.   Joining me this morning to talk about their anniversary and what’s next for the Greater Washington Urban League is George Lambert – President and CEO.

The Greater Washington Urban League (GWUL) is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit community service organization that has guided individuals on the road to self-sufficiency for 80-years. Our mission is to increase the economic and political empowerment of blacks and other minorities and to help all Americans share equally in the responsibilities and rewards of full citizenship.
