Weekend Haps

  • Friday the Howard Theatre is the place to be. Starting with R&B singer Joe performing at 8pm and following him the old school go-go band Rare Essence will be there at 11pm with special guest Jas Funk.
  • Bethesda will be full of love as Neo-soul singer Eric Benet will be at the Bethesda Blues and Jazz supper Club for two show Friday night with one at 7pm and another at 10pm.
  • Saturday head out the Birchmere in Virginia to see the one and only Freddie Jackson at 8pm.
  • On Sunday the Foxtrappe 70’s Summer Soiree featuring Clones of Funk and DJ Julian will be at the Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club starting at 8pm.
  • For Memorial Day you can start your day on Constitution Ave watching the national Memorial Day Parade starting at 2pm. Enjoy ushers marching bands, youth groups, floats, performers and of course our veterans.
  • The Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Rally will be coming to the nations Capital to honor the POW’s and MIA’s who served this great country during the Vietnam War. The “Ride for Freedom” will start at noon, on Saturday at the North Pentagon parking lot and then, will proceed to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
  • PBS’s National Memorial Day Concert salutes the sacrifice made by the men and women in uniform as well as their families. The free annual concert is held on the West Lawn of the S. Capitol, on Sunday, from 8-9:30 p.m.  Celebrity participants include Joe Mantegna, actor Gary Sinise, General Collin Powell, and many more.
  • Tweet will be at the legendary Howard theatre for her DC stop on the Charlene tour. Doors open at 6pm and show time is at 8pm.
