“Taking it to the Streets Weekend Haps” with Bobby Gailes

Thursday July 24th,  – Tuesday July 29th  

  • Today you can come out a join the WHUR Promotions staff at the YMCA’s 20th Annual Thingamajig Invention Convention at the show place arena door open at 9:30am and the event last until 4pm.   The Thingamajig  gives youth the opportunity to exercise their minds and bodies in subjects like Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics and health.
  • Tomorrow you can check out one of the best bands Mint Condition live at the Fillmore in Silver Spring. The show starts at 8pm.
  • On Saturday you can come out and get some laughs with  Joe Clair and friends at Bethesda’s Blue’s and Jazz, with Tony Woods, Nikki Carr and Eddie Bryant. There will be two shows, the first at 7:30 and the second at 10pm.  Also, you can show your support for the 2014 Neighborhood Award nominees who will be in attendance.
  • Also on Saturday Tony Richards will be hosting the 12 annual “All White and Pink” affair to support breast cancer awareness at the Hyatt Regency DC Capital Hill. Kindred the Family Soul, Black Alley and Secret Society will perform.
  • The “March on Washington Film Festival” is happening in Washington DC. Through July 29th,  This free film festival will feature  documentaries and scripted films,  that focus on under-told stories of the 1960’s Civil Rights Era. To get your free tickets, log onto
