Beyonce, Jay-Z, and Oprah To Headline Global Citizen Festival in South Africa

Beyonce, Jay-Z, and Oprah will be heading to South Africa to headline the 2018 Global Citizens Festival.

The three celebrities are among a list of big names said to make an appearance at the festival Dec. 2 in Johannesburg. The festival aims to encourage world leaders to commit to ending extreme poverty by 2030.

According to USAToday, This year’s event, titled “Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100,” will celebrate the centenary year of Nelson Mandela and his legacy to help end poverty. Winfrey will deliver a keynote address remembering the anti-apartheid philanthropist who would’ve turned celebrated his 100 birthday this year.

Other performers to take the stage include Ed Sheeran, Pharrell Williams, Usher, Chris Martin, Eddie Vedder, Cassper Nyovest, D’Banj, Femi Kuti, Sho Madjozi, Tiwa Savage and Wizkid.

Oprah will be joined by Naomi Campbell, Gayle King, Naomi Campbell, Sir Bob Geldof, Bozoma St. John and Forest Whitaker to help host the festival. Fans can begin to earn free tickets to the festival Aug. 21. by signing up at
