Joe Jackson, father to Michael and Janet Jackson, and Jackson 5 creator, has been hospitalized with, allegedly, stage four pancreatic cancer, a source confirmed to Variety Magazine. TMZ and Britain’s Daily Mail first reported the news.

This is another ailment to add to the list the father of 11 has accumulated over the years. He is said to also suffer from dementia, strokes, and at least one heart attack, according to reports. His wife, Katharine, daughters Rebbie and Joh’Vonnie and granddaughter Yashi Brown, were said to have visited the patriarch this week in the hospital after a four day stand off in which the Jackson 5 manager barred any visitors from seeing him in the hospital- including family.

According to Daily Mail, other family members claim to Jackson’s handlers have barred them from visiting the father. The British outlet claims Jackson explicitly said he wanted no visitors or family members to visit and/or have access to his medical documents.

Joe Jackson’s son, Jermaine, 63, confirmed the story to Daily Mail.

“We were not being told where he was and couldn’t get the full picture. Even from the doctor. My mother was worried sick.”

the son added, “He’s very very frail, he doesn’t have long. The family needs to be by his bedside – that’s our only intention in his final days.”

The Jackson family patriarch has lived in Las Vegas for several years. One of his most recent public appearances was at the BET Awards in 2015, attending with his daughter Janet as she accepted the ultimate icon award.
