John Legend Is The First Black Man To Earn EGOT Status

Kudos to singer, actor and producer John Legend. Legend has became the first Black man to earn an EGOT — having earned an Emmy Award, a Grammy Award, an Oscar and a Tony Award. He won a Creative Arts Emmy Award for producing Jesus Christ Superstar Live. The 39-year-old is also the youngest actor to earn EGOT status.

Proud wife Chrissy Teigen celebrated her husband on Twitter.

Whoopi Goldberg is the only other Black actor to earn an EGOT. She earned all four awards back in 2002.

Comics Katt Williams and Tiffany Haddish both took home Emmys as well.

The ceremony will air on September 15 on FXX.
