The Obamas

The hashtag #FarewellObama has been trending as pictures are shared from some of the most memorable moments from the last 8 years.

The world has had a front row seat to witnessing the first daughters, Sasha and Malia Obama, grow up before our eyes into beautiful and intelligent young ladies. We have fallen in love with the public displays of affection between The President and First Lady Michelle Obama sparking the popularity of hashtags like #relationshipgoals and #blacklove on social media. Without even realizing it, The Obamas have created a blueprint of how relationships should be.

Here are some memorable moments captured and shared on social media under the hashtag #FarewellObama.

Thank You, & Farewell @barackobama & @michelleobama. True admiration for these two leaders. You two will always be OUR POTUS & FLOTUS. Made the people, this country & this generation believe in CHANGE! You even made my 88yr old(at the time) Grandmother rest her soul, BELIEVE. She told me she couldn't believe this nation, or it's leaders would let a black man become president. She's seen such bad things in her time done to Black people that she couldn't BELIEVE it would happen. I told her it will happen!! And she was the 1st person I called when you WON!! And she said she will BELIEVE from now on at 88 yrs old. She passed in 2016 but I'm so happy she got to see you be President. So thank you for making us BELIEVE. 🇺🇸 #FarewellObama

I supported a man through two elections and watched his acceptance speeches. I listened to a man orate countless Presidential Addresses and was in attendance at his second Inauguration. I had the opportunity to flourish and thrive in an economy that, without his guidance and direction, I wouldn't have been able to survive in. He gave me access to healthcare when it was inaccessible and shed light onto the injustices within the criminal justice system. I can proudly say that I supported a man whose moral foundation is reminiscent of Atticus Finch. I supported a man who supported me and my generation; a man who led my country with so much grace, class, and dignity. In this man's words I found inspiration, and in his leadership I found hope. Thank you, President Obama. I'll miss you. #mrpresident #thanksobama #obama #classact #presidentobama #mypresidentisblack #barackobama #goodbyeobama #obamafarewell #farewellobama #thankyou #youwillbemissed #youngpeoplewhovote 🇺🇸

I was 13, and a Freshman in High School when you were sworn in as the 44th President of the United States. How grateful I am for that day, cannot be be expressed in enough words, but I will try. Your presence in the White House, and outside of it, has taught me one of the greatest lessons I will ever learn: how to persevere in the most negative times. You and Michelle brought a light to the country that was never there. You made the youth feel empowered and understood. You made us feel like you were one of us, just a human being, trying to go through the trials of life with a smile on your face. There will never be another president and First Lady quite like you. I am so blessed and honored to have been alive and present for such a historic and fantastic reign. Thank you for being Black in a space that was never meant for you to be. Thank you for showing the world that Black love does exist, and can remain through the toughest of times. Thank you for restoring hope and for simply being you. ❤ #forevermypresident #farewellobama
