The Obamas Still Respond To Presidential Fan Mail

Months after former President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama said their goodbyes to the White House, the couple continues to stay active in the community. According to Vibe, in addition to campaigning for education, they also find time to respond to White House fan mail.

As reported by Essence, Brooke Allen shared a photo on Twitter of a letter from the former first family. The Obama’s sent their well wishes to Allen after being unable to accept her wedding invitation.

The response said “congratulations on your wedding. We hope that your marriage is blessed with love, laughter, and happiness and that your bond grows stronger with each passing year.”

The note continued: “This occasion marks the beginning of a lifelong partnership, and as you embark on this journey, know you have our very best for the many joys and adventures that lie ahead.”

Other fans followed Allen’s footsteps and sent their own personal letters to the Obamas. One woman received a congratulations note after the birth of her child, and a high schooler received a letter to celebrate her accomplishments.

We’re still missing the Obamas! Maybe we’ll send them a letter.
