DC Resumes Parking Enforcement

It’s been one full year of the worldwide pandemic that caused many changes across the our nation. Many American citizens have accepted COVID resources, including housing aid, business relief and even waived traffic violations. Now, Mayor Bowser announced that starting today, DC will ramp up parking enforcement, initially by ticketing windows in school zones. During the first week, “warning tickets” will be issued and people will not be fined. After the warning, the fine will be $25.00.

Ticketing was suspended at the beginning of the pandemic last spring to keep the public workers safe, plus there was a huge drop in traffic and the number of people on the streets. Now that we are slowly reaching an end to this pandemic, the mayor says that the parking-meter will be more enforced now that there is more activity.
