AMBER Alert for missing 12 year old Chinese girl extended to New York…

The AMBER Alert for a 12-year-old Chinese girl visiting the US has been expanded to New York. It follows news information in her disappearance. JinJing Ma is seen on surveillance video with a Chinese woman and a man. They are seen leaving in a late model white Infinity QX70 with New York tags. Ma was with a group visiting the country when she said she was going to the bathroom. She never made it to the restroom. It is also reported that the woman she was seen within surveillance video had her change her clothes. U.S. Officials say that Ma does not have any family members in the country. There is a growing concern that this could be a case of human trafficking.

Fire displays over a dozen people in S.E. …

Fire Fighter’s in the District have been working hard to put out two separate blazes in Southeast. The most recent fire started this morning in the 200 block of Newcomb Street. 17 people are now without a place to call home. A teen had to jump from a second-floor window. That person is listed in serious condition at the hospital. Firefighters had to save a baby and a pet. There were no working smoke detectors in the building. On Thursday, a fire on 28th Street in Southeast 13 were left without a place to call home. Officials are still looking to both fires.

S.E. baseball team makes history as they compete in Connecticut tournament…

The Mamie Johnson Little League team from S.E. is one of Districts jewels. This team following a lot of hard work, wins and fundraising have made it in the Little League World Series in Connecticut. The community really stepped up to help them raise the need funds to make this historic trip a reality. Not only are they one win away from the Championship title. They are the first predominately African American team to represent the District of Columbia in the Little League Mid-Atlantic Regional’s. The game is on Sunday and the DMV is pulling for them. Earlier this week the Washington Nationals showed them some love and the players got a chance to meet the team before heading out.
