Ashanti Concert Canceled After Selling Only 24 Tickets

There was a time when Grammy Award-winning singer, Ashanti, dominated the R&B game. Students at Stony Brook University in New York made it clear that time has passed. An Ashanti performance at the university was canceled after only 24 tickets were purchased.

Ashanti was set to perform later this month at the ‘Back to the Brook’ concert. She was a replacement for Teyana Taylor who pulled out at the last minute. That left the University a limited amount of time to properly market Ashanti’s performance.

According to Bossip, Stony Brook University said, “As an organization, we do our best to host programs for students while providing diversity and inclusion. However, we have struggled to execute certain aspects. With only a week before the concert, only 24 tickets were sold to students.”

50 Cent took to Instagram to say he blames Ja Rule.

The tweets below show that some people still support Ashanti.
