FEMA Moves In To Help Hurricane Victims, Michelle Obama Launches A New Organization To Support Girls

FEMA moves in to help victims…

FEMA teams are now beginning to enter the hard hit area’s affected by Hurricane Michael. It’s now a Tropical Storm packing 60 mph winds. It’s moving over the Carolina’s. It’s expected to move out to sea by tomorrow.

When Michael hit the Florida Panhandle Wednesday it has 155 mph winds. Thousands remain without electricity at this hour. Two people have been killed as a result of the storm. President Trump has vowed to provide what every financial resource needed to rebuild. President Trump is expected to visit the region as soon as he given the all clear by FEMA.

Michelle Obama launches a new organization to support girls…

Former First Lady Michelle Obama has done it again. This morning she captured the nation’s attention with the announcement of the Global Girls Alliance. This non-profit nonpolitical organization will focus on supporting over 1,500 girl related organizations worldwide.

This morning launch was announced on the “Today” show and included star-studded performances by Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Clarkson, and Meghan Trainor. Mrs. Obama said that educating girls and putting them in the classroom has a ripple effect.

Global Girl Alliance will help organizations with a focus on girls with training, technical support and networking opportunities. The former First Lady has a very busy schedule her memoir, “Becoming” will be released next month after which she will begin a national book tour which has sold out already all over the country.
