Parents To Meet At School Over Porn Allegations

Maryland school officials will meet with parents tonight to discuss allegations that a former employee filmed young students performing sex acts.  The family of one student has already filed a lawsuit against the county school board, claiming it did not do enough to stop the actions of Deonte Carraway.  Police say Carraway has admitted to the allegations of filming dozens of students perform the acts on school grounds.  Parents are also being urged to call a school counselor hotline to share any concerns.

Indictment In Death Of Montgomery County Officer

There’s an indictment of an Olney man in connection with the death of a Montgomery County police officer.  Luis Reluzco is charged with manslaughter by automobile and a second offense linked to the crash which killed Officer Noah Leotta this past December near the intersection of Rockville Pike and Edmonston Drive in Rockville.  Police believe Reluzco was driving while drunk when his car collided with Leotta’s cruiser, which then struck and killed the officer.  Leotta was out of his patrol car at a traffic stop.

DC Opens Cold Weather Shelters

The District is opening cold weather shelters for the city’s homeless.  Temperatures are dangerously cold, and residents are asked to help get homeless off the street by calling the DC Hypothermia Hotline at 1-800-535-7252.  Families that are seeking shelter can go to the Virginia Williams Family Resource Center on Rhode Island Avenue, NW.

Georgia Prison Guards Face Bribery Charges

Some prison guards in Georgia are facing federal drug and bribery charges.  More than 40 guards were being arrested across the state today as part of a investigation into prison corruption.  Indictments say that the guards smuggled large amounts of meth and cocaine to inmates behind bars in exchange for cash.  The guards worked at multiple prisons in Georgia.
