Northern Va professor charged with raping two students, there could be more victims…

A former Northern Virginia Community College professor has been charged with
raping two female students. Youssef Taleb was a Calculus Professor at the Manassas campus. The victims say the attacks happened on campus when they went to him for help with math. Police are looking for other possible victims.

Two former Med Star Special Police face 30 years in prison for the death of a patient…

30 years in prison –that’s what two former Special Police at Medstar Washington Hospital face in the death of a patient last October. A grand jury has indicted Clifton Montgomery & Charles Brown of involuntary manslaughter in the death of 74 year old James McBride. If you recall the officers were trying to force McBride back into the hospital after he walked out before being discharged. mcbride died two days later of a broken neck.

The City Council approves a new homeless shelter plan vs the Mayor’s plan…

The DC City Council and the mayor’s office are at odds over how to solve the city’s homeless shelter problem. During a session yesterday things got a little heated when leaders approved a new plan that would call for the use of eminent domain to acquire new locations vs the Mayor’s plan to rent buildings. Mayor Muriel Bowser questions the use of eminent domain for some of the sites. Council Chair Phil Mendelson says the change will save tax payers $165 million dollars.
