Taking it to the Streets Weekend Haps Calendar

Here are just a few events and activities taking place this weekend for the entire family.

MS Walk

The WHUR family along with Lorna Newton is joining the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s for their 5k event, in hopes of moving toward a world free of Multiple Sclerosis.  The Walk will happen on Saturday, April 12th at 9am at Wade Elementary School in Waldorf, MD.  The walk will be Log onto their website at www.nationalmssociety.org/Get-Involved, for more information.

2014 DC Tap Festival

The 2014 DC Tap Festival presented by Chloe and Maud Productions.  Among the many activities at this years festival, there will be tap dance competitions,  showcases and they will honor Howard University’s own Ms. Debbie Allen.  More information at dctapfestival.com

Celebration of the Military Child

The National Museum of the Marine Corps in conjunction with community Members and the Marine Corps Base Quantico organizations are having a “Celebration of the Military Child” event.  The event will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014 from 12 to 3 pm, at the National Museum of the Marine Corps. Cherry Blossom Festival Activites

The 2014  Cherry Blossom Festival which is in full effect with a host of activities and events taking place today and tomorrow.  Some of the many events include, the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade on Saturday, April 12 along Constitution Avenue from 7th to 17th streets, NW.  The Sakura Matsuri, Japanese Street Festival, Saturday, April 12 centered at Pennsylvania Avenue and 12th Street, NW.  For more information log onto www.nationalcherryblossomfestival.org
