What You Missed: WHUR’s MLK Town Hall featuring Donald Lawrence, Donna Brazile and Millennial Panelists

This year’s MLK Town Hall discussion tackled millennials taking up the social justice banner. We were in for quite a treat when multiple Grammy and Stellar Award winning songwriter, producer, composer and choir director Donald Lawrence hit the stage delivering a powerful, inspirational performance.

Political analyst, campaign manager and author Donna Brazile delivered an incredible speech on the life and legacy of the late Martin Luther King, Jr.

WHUR’s own Molette Green moderated a compelling conversation with young leaders from the DMV. Our millennial panel included: Jean Yannick – Manager at Fannie Mae, Adam Jackson – CEO of Leaders of A Beautiful Struggle, Jade Agudosi – President of Howard University Student Association and Natali Fani Gonzalez – Public Engagement Director and Commissioner for the Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission.

We would like to thank Donald Lawrence, Donna Brazile, our millennial panelists, Fannie Mae, Pastor John K. Jenkins Sr. and the awesome First Baptist Church of Glenarden family for inviting us into their home for this important discussion.
