WHUR and FedEx Honor Military Moms

WHUR and FedEx hosted our Annual Mother’s Day Luncheon for 50 Military Mothers complete with great food, music, card, flowers, candy, and other surprises. These women serve in our nation’s various branches of the military and are both officers and enlisted personnel. They hold two of the toughest jobs on the planet. They serve our country by protecting and defending our freedoms. They are also mothers.

The attendees included women who were newly enlisted, officers, and veterans.  Hosted by our very own Lorna Newton, who is also a veteran, the luncheon was complete with lots of laughter and even had a few teary moments.  In the end, it’s was a fun day with some phenomenal women.  We allowed Bobby Gailes aka “Mr. Taking It to the Streets” from the Steve Harvey Morning Show to sneak in to say a few words too.

Just in time for Mother’s Day, WHUR and FedEx say THANK YOU to these phenomenal women.
