Maryland’s African American Prison Population Tops In Nation

More blacks in are in Maryland’ prisons than any other station in the nation, according to a new report.

A new report claims Maryland’s prison population holds more African Americans than any other state in the nation. The Justice Policy report says more than 70-percent of Maryland’s prison population was made up of African Americans in 2018. That rate surpasses Mississippi, South Carolina and Georgia. The national average of a state’s prison population is 32-percent black.
