Washington, D.C. (Tuesday, April 20, 2021) – President Biden is weighing in on the Derek Chauvin murder trial. Biden told reporters today he is “praying the verdict is the right verdict.” Biden’s comments come as 12 jurors are deliberating the fate of the fired Minneapolis police officer in the death of George Floyd.
The president added he believes the case to be overwhelming. Biden confirmed that he called the family of Floyd and said he can only imagine the pressure and anxiety they are feeling. “They’re a good family and they’re calling for peace and tranquility no matter what that verdict is,” said Biden.
