(Tuesday, September 7, 2021) – Condolences are pouring from Hollywood and fans as news spreads about the passing of Emmy nominated actor Michael K. Williams. Williams, best known for his role as Omar Little in the HBO hit series “The Wire,” was found dead Monday inside his Brooklyn apartment.
His death is being investigated as a possible drug overdose, according to the New York police department.
Williams appeared in all five seasons of “The Wire” from 2002 to 2008. His career also included characters in HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire” and “Lovecraft Country.” He also appeared in the films “12 Years A Slave” and “Assassin’s Creed.” Michael K. Williams was 54.
