Today, bomb threats at two local historically black university’s put the schools on high alert. The threats were directed at Howard University and Bowie State University. Both schools say no bombs were found on its campuses.
A call came in at 4:30 this morning to Howard alleging a bomb was located in the campus’ administration building. DC and campus police searched but found no explosives.
A call to Bowie State was received around 6:00 am today.  Maryland State Police were involved in the investigation at BSU, and though the threat there was taken seriously, police say it did not appear to be credible.  Classes at Bowie State were held virtually because of the bomb scare. Bowie State president Aminta Breaux said the threats will not deter the university from its mission of educating students.

Four other HBCU’s across the country—Albany State University, Bethune-Cookman University, Southern University and Delaware State University— received threats today and were forced to lockdown or close.
