(Washington, DC) — President Biden is urging Russia to choose diplomacy over war. Speaking at the White House, Biden said the U.S. remains committed to intensive high-level diplomacy to ease tensions between Ukraine and Russia. Biden again warned of swift and harsh economic consequences if Russia invades Ukraine. Biden’s remarks followed claims by Russia that it’s removing some troops from the Ukraine border. Biden said those claims have not been verified and stressed an invasion is still a possibility.
