Ground-Breaking For New DC Hospital

Ground-breaking for a new hospital for DC residents that will be located east of the river.

A new hospital will be coming to Southeast DC.
Today, Mayor Bowser and others put ceremonial shovels to the ground for the new Cedar Hill Medical Center to be located at the St. Elizabeth’s East campus grounds.  The 136-bed facility is scheduled to open in 2024. The hospital will be run by Universal Health Services, which runs George Washington University Hospital.  The naming of the new medical facility is in honor of the site of the final home of Frederick Douglass, named Cedar Hill, which sits in Anacostia.
