(Alexandria, VA) — School Resource Officers will remain on the job for another year. The Alexandria City Public Schools voted to keep the School Resource Officers program for an additional year. School officials sought to extend the program to allow a task force to further work on the SRO program and present recommendations to the board. Alexandria City Council voted to end the program last year but moved to reinstate the officers following a rash of school violence this year. Council is now tasked with funding the program through the next school year.
