(Monday, January 9, 2023) – Following pressure from the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), Walmart has taken down the online listing of a pair of men’s hiking books with “KKK” on the tongue of the boot.

According to Business Insider, the boots were listed as “Harsuny Men’s Tactical Military Hiking Angle Boot Outdoor Trekking Shoes.”  They were available in black and tan with red KKK on the tongue of the shoes just above the laces.  The boots retail for $50.

In a press release CAIR, which is a grassroots advocacy and civil rights group, applauded Walmart for removing the listing.  “We thank Walmart for dropping an online listing for oddly/poorly named KKK boots after we brought this to their attention earlier today.”

The Business Insider reported that a Walmart spokesperson said the boots were listed by an outside third party seller.  The publication quoted Walmart saying “We removed the item because it is inconsistent with the company’s values and violates Walmart’s prohibited product policy.”

Boots with letters KKK on them no longer will be sold on Walmart website.
