(Annapolis, MD) — Governor Wes Moore is unveiling his first budget proposal. In his budget address, Moore said his first spending plan is “strategic.” He says the budget prepares Maryland to weather risk in the larger economy, adding it will make “historic investments” to position the state for future growth and make the next decade “Maryland’s decade.” The budget commits a half-billion dollars each to the “Blueprint for Maryland’s Future” education plan and for state transportation projects. The budget covers the fiscal year starting in July and state lawmakers will now consider the spending plan.
