(Ocala, FL) — A funeral service is underway for a Florida mother who was allegedly shot and killed by her neighbor. Family members are saying their final goodbyes to 35-year-old Ajike Owens in Ocala, north of Orlando. Deputies say Owens was shot through the door of her neighbor’s apartment earlier this month when she tried to confront her about hitting one of her children. The suspected shooter Susan Lorincz, who is white, claims self defense in the shooting of Owens, who is Black. Owens’ family attorney is trying to get her charges upgraded from manslaughter to murder.
