Mayor Bowser Hosting Town Hall On Police Chief Search

Chief Robert Contee recently retired and took a job as an assistant director at the FBI.

Today’s the day for residents to speak up about the search for DC’s next police chief. Mayor Bowser is hosting a tele-town hall at 6:00 this evening to give folks a chance to sound off on the effort to find a permanent replacement for Chief Robert Contee.

He recently retired from the MPD and took a job as an assistant director at the FBI. Bowser says she’s looking for a solid leader from a diverse urban police force and someone with a track record of driving down crime, but also wants to hear what you think. Info about how to join the town hall or provide comments online can be found at dc.gov.
