Amtrak Train Derails At Union Station

The cars derailed in a tunnel headed into Union Station as it was arriving from Norfolk, Virginia.

(Washington, DC) — Amtrak has suspended all services for a stretch along the East coast after two train cars derailed at Union Station in Washington, D.C. Services are on hold between D.C. and Richmond, Virginia after the incident happened just before 9 a.m. local time. The cars derailed in a tunnel headed into Union Station as it was arriving from Norfolk, Virginia. Fire officials reported no injuries and Amtrak says the train remained upright.
