(Washington, DC) — Employers in Washington, D.C. will need to start including salary ranges and benefit schedules in their postings for job openings. The D.C. Council passed a measure yesterday called the Wage Transparency Omnibus Amendment Act. Supporters of the bill said it would promote honesty in employee recruitment by requiring minimum and maximum pay information in all job posts. Employers will also be barred from asking about a potential employee’s past wage history. The new law is scheduled to go into effect on June 30th.
