Woman Arrested After Allegedly Stealing $2,500 Worth Of Stanley Cups

A vigorous search recovered 65 Stanley products.

Reported by the Roseville Police Department, a 23-year-old woman in Roseville, California, has been arrested and charged with grand theft after allegedly stealing $2,500 worth of Stanley drinkware.

The incident occurred when the woman attempted to steal a shopping cart full of Stanley water bottles without paying for them. Roseville Police stated, “The suspect refused to stop for staff and stuffed her car with the stolen merchandise.”

TikTok and limited-edition colored tumblers have fueled the popularity of the Stanley tumblers.


Police responded to a call about the shoplifting incident and later found the stolen merchandise in the suspect’s car when a traffic stop was initiated once she was spotted entering Highway 65 from Galleria Blvd.

The suspect has been charged with grand theft and DUI. The Stanley brand’s popular 40 oz. “Quencher” model has gained popularity among women and younger customers, leading to high demand and reselling at inflated prices.

Police advise against turning to crime to obtain Stanley tumblers in a post saying, “While Stanley Quenchers are all the rage, we strongly advise against turning to crime to fulfill your hydration habits. The Roseville Police Department remains committed to stopping retail theft.”
