Court Appearance For Alleged Shooter of DC Housing Authority Officer

The man accused of shooting a DC Housing Authority police officer last week is due in a DC court.

40-year-old Victor Terrill of Landover has been held without bond since his arrest for assaulting an officer while armed.

Police say Terrill and a female, who did not live at the Carroll Apartments at 410 M Street, SE, both refused to leave the premises.  After a scuffle, Terrill shot a housing officer in the abdomen then fled to a nearby parking garage where he barricaded himself for several hours before being apprehended by police.

Streets were blocked off and residents were told to shelter in place for several hours.

Friday, March 8, a hearing is scheduled to determine if they will release Terrill or detain him.
