The Montgomery County School board approved a 3.3 billion dollar budget today. The board contends the school system faces a $30-million dollar shortfall. It says tutoring and stem programs will be reduced and the academy for students to take class online will be eliminated. School superintendent Monique Felder says hard decisions were necessary. The Board says teacher layoffs are unlikely, but class sizes may be increased next year by one person per class.
