Pay up! That’s what state leaders in Maryland want from owners of the ship that struck and caused Baltimore’s Key Bridge to collapse. Today, Maryland Governor Wes Moore and Attorney General Anthony Brown announced the state has filed a lawsuit against the Singapore company that owns the Dali container ship. In March, the ship lost power then slammed into the Key Bridge causing it to collapse and killing six construction workers who were on the structure. Attorney General Brown says the incident was preventable. The U.S. Justice Department, as well as families of the six construction workers killed, have also filed lawsuits against the ship owners. A spokesperson for owners and manager of the container ship says they “look forward to our day in court to set the record straight.”
