Halle Bailey Granted Restraining Order Against Rapper DDG Over Abuse Allegations

ABC News reports that a Los Angeles judge has granted a restraining order to actor and singer Halle Bailey, best known for her role in Disney’s The Little Mermaid, against her ex-boyfriend, rapper DDG, citing repeated instances of violence and abuse.

In court documents, Bailey expressed fear for both herself and their 17-month-old son, Halo, detailing allegations of physical, verbal, emotional, and financial abuse. The judge ordered DDG to stay away from Bailey and their son until a hearing scheduled for June 6, and also prohibited him from possessing any weapons.

Bailey additionally requested that DDG refrain from using his social media platforms to incite hostility against her. “Throughout our relationship,” Bailey stated in her petition, “Daryl has been and continues to be physically, verbally, emotionally, and financially abusive towards me. I am seeking orders to protect myself and our son Halo from his ongoing abuse.”

DDG, a prominent hip-hop artist, released his fourth studio album in May. Bailey, a Grammy-nominated performer, has starred in the series Grown-ish and played the lead in Disney’s live-action remake of The Little Mermaid.
