MD. Del. Lisanti Facing Censure Vote

The Maryland House of Delegates plans a censure vote late this afternoon against Harford County Democrat Mary Ann Lisanti.  Calls for her to resign continue to pile up after she used the n-word to describe residents of Prince George’s County. Lisanti apologized Tuesday morning to the House Democratic Caucus for the slur. She reportedly used the word during an after-hours gathering at an Annapolis cigar bar while talking with a colleague. On the list calling for her resignation are the Democratic Party of Maryland and Governor Larry Hogan. The censure vote will proceed if Lisanti doesn’t resign.

Metro Board Votes To Keep Adjusted Metro Hours Until 2020

(Washington, DC) — Late-night Metro rail service will be making a come back but not until 2020. The Metro board voted seven-to-one today to keep limited operating hours for Metro rail repairs until July of next year. Metro Board Chairman and DC Councilmember Jack Evans says the measure gives Metro time for much needed maintenance. Rail service currently stops at 11:30 p.m. on weeknights and 1:00 a.m. on the weekends. Starting next year trains will run until midnight on weekdays and until 3:00 a.m. on weekends. Adjusted service hours were put in place in 2016 for repair work.

Kraft Pleads Not Guilty To Solicitation Charges

(West Palm Beach, FL) — New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft is pleading not guilty to charges of soliciting prostitution at a Florida day spa. USA Today reports Kraft’s attorney filed the plea to Florida’s 15th Judicial Circuit Court. By filing the plea before a March 27th hearing, Kraft will avoid having to appear in person at the arraignment. The 77-year-old Kraft is charged in connection with two visits to the Orchids of Asia Day Spa in Jupiter, where investigators say they seized video of Kraft and other customers engaging in sexual acts. Kraft has denied the claims.
