The Jefferson Davis Highway in Arlington County is getting a name change. The Virginia Commonwealth Transportation Board voted today to change the official name of the road that passes through Arlington County to Richmond Highway this fall. Arlington County leaders decided last month to rename the road that bears the name of the president of the Confederacy. It’s estimated it will cost the county about 17-thousand dollars to update street signs on the two-point-five mile stretch of road that’s in Arlington County. Alexandria renamed its portion of the road last year.
