D.C. Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton wants to keep the momentum behind the city’s call for statehood moving forward. Tonight she has called a community meeting on that very topic.
Officials say tonight’s 6 pm meeting will be held at Metropolitan AME Church in Northwest. Residents can hear and share information regarding this renewed push. On July 24th at the excitement of many in support of the change, Congress will hold a hearing on D.C. statehood.
Tonight meeting will last about 2-hours. It will be co-hosted by the Pastor of the church, Rev. William Lamar IV.
