American’s are waking up this morning to some good news coming out of Capitol Hill. President Trump and congressional leaders have reached a budget deal.

The 2-year 1.37 trillion dollar deal would avert a government shutdown and provide critical funds to strengthen our nations security. In addition Democratic Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer addressed the media and said the plan calls for more investment in the middle class and it would allow the country to extend the debit ceiling until after the 2020 Presidential election.

The President of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, said “This agreement is a total abdication of fiscal responsibility by Congress and the president.” “It may end up being the worst budget agreement in our nation’s history, proposed at a time when our fiscal conditions are already precarious.”

Lawmakers still have to approve it. It will first move through the House followed by the Senate next week. The Senate is expected to easily support it. Congress goes on its annual August recess next week.
