Change is coming in Prince George’s County. At 11 this morning Prince George’s County Angela Alsobrooks announced that she was making Deputy Fire Chief Tiffany Green the new Prince George’s County Fire Chief. She replaced the current Fire Chief Benjamin Barksdale. He is set to retire in the coming months.
Green began her long career with the Fire Department as a volunteer firefighter for the Oxon Hill Fire Department. She began in March of 1999. This appointment makes Green the first African American woman to lead the county’s fire department.
