Officials In Prince George’s Co. Are Looking To See If Too Much Homework Is Given Out

Soon parents will receive the survey via email. You can actually go online and get the survey for yourself starting on or around October 16th.

School officials are reviewing the Prince George’s County School Systems policy and procedures on homework assignments. They are looking to answer the question if too much is given to students.

A committee made up of school administrators, teachers, parents, and students will review surveys and then present the outcome in 2021.

Soon parents will receive the survey via email. You can actually go online and get the survey for yourself starting on or around October 16th.

The study follows a number of national studies on this very topic of what is too much and where it no longer benefits children learning. A study conducted by Duke University professor Harris Cooper states that a student should only have 10 minutes of homework a night for every grade level achieved.
