Basketball legend Michael Jordan made a $7.2 million dollar donation for two health clinics in Charlotte, North Carolina.
“The Novant Health Michael Jordan Family Clinic on Freedom Drive, and a second facility expected to open on Statesville Avenue, are expected to serve at least 35,000 children and adults over the next five years,” reported the Charlotte Observer. “The clinic provides both primary health care services as well as access to social workers, behavioral health experts, oral health practitioners, and physical therapy.”

The clinic is located in a lower-income community and will provide primary and preventative care to people with or without insurance.
At the opening, Jordan became emotional.
“As you can see, its a very emotional thing for me to be able to give back to a community that’s supported me over the years.”
Jordan became a major owner of the Charlotte Hornets back in 2010.
One could consider him a philanthropist. In September, he pledged $1 million dollars to hurricane relief in the Bahamas.
